The mission of the chief probabtion officers of california is to provide leadership in the mobilization, coordination, and implementation of probation programs; and provide for public protection including detention and treatment, victim services, and the prevention of crime and delinquency; and to insure the provision of quality investitgations and supervision of offenders for the courts.

The chief probation officers of california is a professional trade association whose members consist of the 59 probation chiefs in california. cpoc serves its members through assistance with policy implementation, advocacy and communications all of which seek to support probation chiefs as they implement evidenced-based programs to promote public safety, hold individuals accountable, provide opportunities for positive change and restore victims in both the criminal justice, and juvenile justice systems.
