Team up philly is dedicated to empowering girls in under-served philadelphia neighborhoods to lead healthy, confident, and successful lives. since 2006, team up philly has been working to meet the needs of girls who live in communities lacking access to sports, leadership, and academic after-school and summer programs. since the first 6-week basketball program team up philly piloted in a west philadelphia gym, programs have expanded to include tutoring, basketball, tennis, swimming, healthy cooking classes, leadership initiatives, life skills training, a program for juvenile offenders, and summer camps. all programs are comprehensive, combining sports, academic support, character and leadership development, and nutrition education with mentoring from caring coaches and tutors. team up philly utilizes a long- term approach, providing programs for girls throughout middle and high school, in order to have the most lasting and positive impact on the trajectory of their lives. girls in team
