Organization Details
To educate the public by supporting section 501(c)(3) organizations and public interest news and reporting organizations that educate the public and operate in a noncommercial manner, by subsidizing insurance for them for the costs of defense against libel and slander lawsuits and providing them with training, and legal resources (including prepublication review), to reduce the risk and impact of strategic lawsuits against public participation (slapp) threats and lawsuits and enable them to pursue nonpartisan, public interest journalism freely and independently.
